In March 2009, the ACT6 was another model that Bad Back Chairs (www.badbackchairs.co.uk) wanted to promote but they were a long way down the search engine results.
To help Online Selling instigated a three pronged approach to promote the chair and to improve the natural search results in the face of strong opposition.
Firstly we renamed the product with a long-tail to include more keywords into the domain. The product now reads www.badbackchairs.co.uk/Chair-for-Bad-Backs-ACT6-Medium-Back-Orthopaedic-Posture-Chair-with-Foldaway-Height-Adjustable-Arms-Our-Ref-ERGFACT6
Bad Back Chairs (www.badbackchairs.co.uk) promotes an ergonomic chair known as ACTIV5. The problem they had was that so do about 15 other resellers who were getting more prominent natural search results in Google searches.
Online Selling therefore designed a keyword rich mini-site promoting just the ACTIVE5. The content was unique and the domain was acquired specifically for this site. We applied advanced SEO techniques to the site and ensured an adequate number of relevant back-links were used.
After 18 months since launch, a search for ACTIV5 in Google still shows the mini-site www.activ5.co.uk being returned in natural Position 1 in the search results.
One of our clients, JMS Flagpoles (www.jms-flagpoles.co.uk) offers a service whereby they repair and maintain existing flags and flagpoles. A directive from central government told councils and other government establishments that they must look after their flags and flagpoles and fly the correct flags on recognised flag flying days (www.jms-flagpoles.co.uk/pdf/Flag_Flying.pdf).
A subsequent increase in Google keyword searches relating to repairs and maintenance allowed JMS and Online Selling to take advantage of this announcement. We quickly developed four one-page micro-sites with the domain names of www.flag-repair.co.uk, www.flag-maintenance.co.uk, www.flagpole-maintenance.co.uk and www.flagpole-repair.co.uk.
